I suppose you all could ask your employers to let you work on Sundays so you can shop on a weekday, or just budget your time better.

1819, comrade. I said tax credit. You may want to go back to a public school and learn some comprehension. So, we lose the tax money from the corporations, the district loses the money from the student and it all goes into the pockets of politically aligned private schools. In addition it has the opportunity to give those corps a nice little Jersey thank you down the line for giving to a politicians favored program.

Funny thing though. I have read it. That's where I got those facts from. Where did you get your talking points from my friend, because it states student eligibility from the worst performing SCHOOLS not districts.

But again, I ask you. If you are taking the poorest students, ones that cannot afford transportation out of their district to go to another public school since they cannot go to one inside their district, what's left? It really isn't school choice is it? A school isn't required to be a part of this program and I'll bet many of the best districts aren't.

What you are advocating is destroying public education, union busting and keeping the races and classes separate under the guise of "it's for the children". Stop trying to mislead people.

By your definition 1819 they are already picking and choosing, aren't they? I think what you're leaving out is that corporations that sponsor a scholarship get a big fat 100% tax credit. And a child from a failing public school cannot be accepted into another public school the same district. Who is paying for transportation then? Your lottery only comes in to play when all the slots are filled and there are still students waiting.

Well Monk, how can anyone argue with crazy talk like that. I see you're ready to devolve society. So you'd be OK with a majority of a town say going with Sharia law? That would go with your view of getting federal, state and local govt out of the way of a community. If the majority wants it, why not? Right? Who would know better than those in their own community? *SMH*

Yes, when a school is able to pick and choose which students it accepts it can fool the shallow thinkers to make it look like a success.

The BOE is not union and all the residents of each district vote for ALL the members. Why do you want to take away my vote?

Is it a surprise that a union would defend one of their own? That's part of what union dues are for. Do you not believe in the law and that everyone is entitled to representation?

You need to stop watching videos and think a little for yourself.

Once again 1819 you're very confused. Tenure does not mean that one is "shackled" to their job. They are free to leave any time.

Did you ever think the bar was already high? It's certainly much higher than what a private school requires. Anyone can get fired. All they have to do is prove a good reason and document it. What a concept, eh? Just like law! are you against law now too, Comrade?

Capitalism has nothing to do with merit. Don't be silly now.

BTW 1819, when is the last time you voted for the DOE? Oh right, you never did. It's a politically appointed position. How does that make it sensitive to the voters?
