Traffic Officer to Discuss Pedestrian Safety in Fair Lawn

The League of Women Voters of Fair Lawn are holding an event Thursday at Borough Hall to discuss pedestrian safety issues.

Do you know how pedestrian push-button intersections are supposed to work or how far into a crosswalk you need to be to compel cars to stop? How about which road in Fair Lawn has been the scene of the most pedestrian strikes in recent years?

Tim Franco, Fair Lawn's Traffic Safety Officer and the president of the New Jersey Police Traffic Officers Association, will answer both general pedestrian safety questions and more specific Fair Lawn-related ones at a public discussion Thursday night at Borough Hall Council Chambers.

The event, which is being hosted by the League of Women Voters of Fair Lawn, runs from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
