Folk Music, Veterans Recognition, Appraisal Fundraiser This Weekend

Here's a look at what's going on this weekend in Fair Lawn.

The Fair Lawn Ambulance Corps will offer a basic first aid event from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club will present Alan Reid and Rob Van Sante with special guests Burning Bridget Cleary at the Fair Lawn Community Center Saturday at 8 p.m. For tickets, call 201-384-1325 or visit www.hurdygurdyfolk.org.      

Temple Beth Sholom will host a veterans recognition program with guest speaker Colonel Glenn H. Goldman at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The event costs $5 and is free for veterans.

The Knights of Pythias will host a "what's it worth" appraisal event fundraiser at the Fair Lawn Community Center  Sunday to benefit the Naugle House restoration. Experts with a variety of specialties will be on hand to appraise items like paintings, prints, jewelry, coins, glass, sports memorabilia, etc. from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more info, call 201-791-3230 or email jontaner@aol.com with the subject "What’s it Worth?"

The Fair Lawn Library will host an opening reception for its new 12-artist show at the Pine Gallery at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
